The long way
back to your hotel.
Sometimes the best plan is an ocean view and nowhere urgent to be.
MIRAFLORES, LIMA · BEFORE & AFTER CUSCO
A first taste of Peru. A proper night’s sleep.
A Pacific sunset you didn’t see coming.
Turn your first and last nights in Lima into two lovely parts of the holiday—with a place to stay that actually fits your trip.
First, show me the experience
Local eyes. A personal point of view.

Connecting through Lima? This is a suggested two-stay itinerary, not a flight requirement. Whether to stay overnight depends on your actual connections and the time you have.
ONE ADDRESS. TWO VERY DIFFERENT MOODS.
After a long flight from Europe, even a small decision can feel surprisingly large. Where to sleep. How to get there. Whether dinner is still an option.
My suggestion? Give yourself a comfortable base in Miraflores: coastal walks, cafés and room to slow down. On the way home, return for the things you didn’t quite get to the first time.
Your suitcase can take the evening off.
THE FIRST NIGHT. THE LAST NIGHT.

BEFORE CUSCO · A GENTLER ARRIVAL
Let your first day match your energy, not somebody else’s checklist. These are possibilities to fit around your arrival.
Arrange your airport transfer in advance. Send the hotel your arrival time and confirm when the room will be ready.
Try ceviche at a place that suits your tastes. Arriving late? A nearby dinner and a comfortable bed count as excellent sightseeing.
Follow a manageable stretch of the Malecón. Bring a layer for the breeze; a sunset is a lovely bonus, weather permitting.
Check breakfast times and your airport pickup before bed. Your future, slightly sleepy self will be grateful.

AFTER CUSCO · A PROPER FINALE
You’ve done the early starts. Now choose a slower finish—with your flight home planned first.
Ask about using the same hotel for both stays. A welcome back can feel especially good after the Andes.
A visit to Huaca Pucllana, a coffee near Kennedy Park or a last coastal walk. Check opening times before setting off.
Book a relaxed meal that fits your departure. Leave some space in the suitcase—and some space for dessert.
Confirm checkout, luggage storage and your pickup. Build in road time, possible traffic and your airline’s check-in deadline.
Suggested experiences, not a timed tour. We adapt the details to your flights, energy, mobility and interests.
THE ROOM MATTERS AS MUCH AS THE VIEW.
A lovely hotel is only the right hotel
if it works for your night.

Clifftop views, neighbourhood cafés
and a base for exploring at your pace.
WHAT WE’LL ASK THE HOTEL
A quieter room position can matter more than an extra star. Tell us about your flight times and what tends to disturb your sleep.
These are preferences to check, not promised hotel amenities. We confirm the exact room, total price and terms before you decide.

YOU ONLY NEED A FEW GOOD MOMENTS.

Sometimes the best plan is an ocean view and nowhere urgent to be.

Explore around Kennedy Park. The neighbourhood cats have already mastered the pace.

Stay out for the colours, bring a light layer and let the dinner conversation run long.
Still curious? There’s a pyramid in the neighbourhood. Huaca Pucllana makes a memorable extra stop when your timing allows. Check official visiting information ↗

A FIRST TASTE. A LAST CRAVING.
Peru makes a very persuasive argument for sitting down to eat. My only request: don’t let a short stay become a long list of reservations.
Fish, lime, onion and a little heat. Ask about the preparation and your dietary needs; if raw fish isn’t for you, choose a cooked dish. Lomo saltado—beef, tomato, onion, rice and chips—is a very convincing alternative.
Ask for “ají aparte”: chilli on the side. Try a tiny amount first. Your sense of adventure and your taste buds can negotiate from there.
Lime, pisco, sweetness and a foamy top: a classic toast to Peru. It contains alcohol and traditionally egg white; ask about ingredients or choose a non-alcoholic drink. At altitude, CDC advises avoiding alcohol for the first 48 hours.
A FRIENDLY HEAD START
A little local perspective.
A much easier first evening.
Fernando NovoaUse an authorised airport taxi desk or a licensed service arranged through your hotel, by phone or through an app. Confirm the driver, fare and exact meeting point. Avoid accepting unsolicited rides.
The current airport terminal is accessed from Avenida Morales Duárez. Follow your provider’s current pickup instructions.
Official airport transport ↗Miraflores is a city stay. Road times change with traffic, so plan each transfer around your actual flight and airline deadlines. A short connection or very early departure may favour an airport hotel instead.
Airport Express is another option: check its current stops, timetable and the distance from your hotel.
Check the airport bus timetable ↗Choose sealed bottled water or water your hotel confirms is safe to drink. Use established exchange offices or banks and keep some small notes. Cross cautiously, even at marked crossings, and keep your phone and valuables discreet.
Practical travel advice ↗A comfortable night in Lima gives you a chance to rest after the flight. It does not acclimatise you to Cusco. Plan a gradual approach to altitude where possible and take your first days there gently.
Read CDC altitude guidance ↗LET’S GIVE YOUR LIMA NIGHTS A LITTLE THOUGHT.
Tell me when you’re coming, what a comfortable night means to you and how much you’d like to spend. We’ll start with hotel options that fit—and the details that make the stay work.
“You came a long way for this holiday.
Let’s make the little days count, too.”
